Where we came from:

Started in 2005 as a copyshop, mainly to receive client documents and just reproduce one or more than one copy. Whose purpose was to reproduce a copy from a valuable original. The original would be kept at the source, while, copies would be used as reference, to serve other purposes.docWorld

As time went, we advised our clients, to preserve a soft copy, by scanning a hard copy into a soft copy. The soft copy would easier to save than a hard copy.

Further on we advised our clients to send soft copies via mail (docuwide@utlonline.co.ug). This was found safer and quicker. Where we are today, we provide an Internet service, which enables our clients to download the softcopies and re produce into as many hard copies as needed.

We specialized in bulk photocopying for seminars and others, in the shortest time possible.

Rental Services

We do machine rentals as well, for big volume document production and presentation in seminars and conferences. We have handled some of Uganda’s big name conferences like The COMESA, The International Islamic Conference, etc, in the past.

Challenges

Docuwide Uganda LTD has the required experience, to drive away ignorance from many Ugandans, through information technology . Ignorance and low reading culture has hindered Ugandans from prosperity.

Unfortunately Docuwide has not grown tremendously in terms of capacity and manpower.

Given our background, UIA/UIR may come in to promote our strategy, as outlined below

The way forward is to look for suitable skilling and funding that can spread literacy and reading culture, through IT.

Peasants can be enabled to surf using their mobile phones and consequently print using small/cheaper desktop printers.
